LLNL Environmental Policy (July 2014)

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is committed to the implementation of a strong Environmental Management System (EMS) using LLNL’s Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS). The Laboratory continues to build upon its well-established foundation of environmental programs and performance. The Laboratory will further integrate sustainable decision-making and practices throughout the organization while continually improving its environmental performance. The LLNL Environmental Policy provides the basis for our environmental commitments.

All employees should be familiar with the LLNL Environmental Policy (below) and their role in implementing the Environmental Management System. Employees are asked to work to continuously improve the Laboratory’s environmental stewardship and performance. This Laboratory-wide effort to minimize any potential impacts of the Laboratory's operations on the environment requires the participation of every employee.

LLNL is committed to being a leader in responsible environmental stewardship. Environmental stewardship is integrated into our strategic planning and decision-making processes and into the management of our work activities through ISMS.
